Tonight's the big night for Democrats when Senator Barack Obama officially acceots the Democratic nomination for president, The vice-presidential nominee, Joe Biden, stood side-by-side with Obama last night in Denver. Former President Bill Clinton said he's backing Obama and he's the man to lead the nation .

While the hot winds are blowing in Denver, the cooler winds are blowing and headed to the Gulf from Gustaf. Ironically, this week ss the anniversary of Hurricane Katrina slamming into New Orleans.

Shelby County Sheriff Deputies won't be given pay raises. County commissioners listened to County Mayor A.C. Wharto and nixed almost $800,000 in raises that had been slated for the deputies.

MLGW has lowered the amount of money they're paying for former MLGW head Joseph Lee for his legal bills, but one city lawmaker is questioning why Lee is being paid in the first place. Jim Strickland says he probably will vote not to pay the amount requested.

Microsoft is adding a new feature to their browsers. Some are dubbing this as the "porn mode." The function will allow users to hide the sites they've visited.

$42 million will be cut from the Memphis City School budget and some say that amount is a threat to the most vulnerable students in the system. 10 elementary and secondary counselors along with 13 mental health professionals and others will be pink-slipped.
